Prerequisites of feasibility for using marketing in the current work of healthcare institutions concerning the needs in medical services and their impact on consumers are highlighted. The predominant criteria of the consumer segmentation of medical services (patients in hospitals) are described. The use of «donor» marketing for the segmentation of consumers of medical services has been proposed, the characteristics of each sociotype in selecting the service source are given. Approaches to segmentation of customers (patients) in hospitals by the sensitivity to price have been determined. The importance and possibilities of using information technologies to establish a dialogue with customers (patients) in hospitals has been shown. The factors for forming the loyalty of clients of a medical preventive institution have been determined. There is a proposition to combine them in three groups of components such as medical, non-medical, public and social factors.
