Abstract

Aim. To study the effect of the complex of active substances selected on the structural and mechanical
properties of the foam base and the product developed, as well as to determine the necessary technological
aspects for its industrial production.
Materials and methods. The technological, structural and mechanical, physicochemical studies were
carried out. The rheological parameters (structural viscosity, shear stress and other rheological indicators)
were measured using a Brookfield DV-II + PRO (USA) viscosimeter, SC 4-21 spindle. The pH value of the test
samples was determined by the potentiometric method.
Results. When carrying out the structural and mechanical studies we noted that all samples had a
pseudoplastic flow type and definite thixotropic properties. The rational method of introduction of active
substances (alantoin, hydroxyethyl urea and preservative) in the foam base developed was found. Thus, it
is indicated that due to the sequence of their addition selected the foam product developed meets all regulated
requirements (organoleptic, structural-mechanical, etc.).
Conclusions. It has been determined that the structural and mechanical characteristics of the experimental
samples obtained affect the technological aspects of manufacturing the product developed for infants.
Thanks to the technological, physicochemical and structural and mechanical studies conducted the
sequence of introduction of substances (allantoin, hydroxyethyl urea, preservative) in the foam base developed
has been substantiated. It has been experimentally confirmed that the calculated index of mechanical
stability (MS) of this product (close to the ideal value of 1.0) indicates the structure of the system, which is
important, above all, throughout all stages of the technological process and the satisfactory extrusion properties
of the product in an unsealed container (PET bottle with a flip-top). On the basis of the rheograms
constructed it has been proven that the product developed is a stable system with definite thixotropic properties,
and it has been confirmed by the presence of a certain area of the hysteresis loop.
