Aim. To analyze the domestic pharmaceutical market of antifungal drugs for the local treatment of fungal skin lesions taking into account all drug forms.
Materials and methods. The analysis was carried out on the basis of data from the State Register of Medicines of Ukraine, electronic databases, the retrieval information program “Morion” and the price lists of the weekly publication “Apteka” as of March 10, 2019. The logical, system-based analytical, mathematical-statistical and comparative methods of analysis were used in our work.
Results. According to the results of the analysis of antifungal drugs for local use registered inUkraine (D01A group) it has been found that most of them are produced by foreign manufactures, and the share of domestic drugs is 41 %. In addition, the studies have shown that more than half of the drugs of the D01A group (54 %) registered are presented in soft medicinal forms (creams, ointments and gels), and 30 % are drugs in the form of solutions, where 8 % are sprays. The trade names of the active substances (terbinafine, clotrimazole, ketoconazole, naphthine and salicylic acid) presented mainly in greatest quantity have been determined. It has been found that among the drugs registered 91 % are monocomponent ones. The distribution of the assortment of drugs of the group “D01A E - Other Antifungal Drugs for Local Use” has been divided into price categories, and their lower, middle and high prices have been determined. Using the pricing method for developing drugs with the focus on competitive prices it has been determined that the most profitable position is in the middle price category.
Conclusions. The results of the market research can be used to develop practical measures to increase the efficiency of implementing socially adapted mechanisms for reimbursement of the cost of consumption of antifungal drugs as a part of the government measures to increase the availability of pharmaceutical care for patients in Ukraine.References
