Aim. To analyze socio-economic components of providing the pharmaceutical care to patients who need liver transplantation.
Materials and methods. During our research the scientific literature data, normative legal acts regulating the pharmaceutical care provision for patients in transplantation, and statistics of the MOH of Ukraine have been studied. The range of medicines and sutural materials recommended for use at the first stages of the liver transplantation and the structure of expenses on purchasing the nomenclature of goods specified over recent years have been analyzed. In the study conducted the methods of the content analysis, as well as comparative, logical, mathematical and marketing analysis were used.
Results. The analysis of the range of medicines and expendable materials applied for liver transplantation from the living related donor has been carried out; it has been found that most products are offered by foreign producers. Medicines are presented from 25 groups of the fourth level of the ATC-classification; medicines of groups B, A and J prevail. The analysis of the cost structure on purchasing these pharmaceutical products indicates that there is an increase in the cost of medicines for patients, in particular medicines of B02AB group “Proteinase inhibitors” are the most expensive. The level of expenses on healthcare and, therefore, the level of provision of patients who need organ transplantation with medicines have been determined.
Conclusions. The research results indicate the lack of the timely and available pharmaceutical care inUkraine when performing organ transplantation today. The pending problems of legislative, financial, social and psychological character require development of a complex of actions at all levels of providing the pharmaceutical care.
