The marketing research of medicines used in complex treatment of acute intestinal infections of viral etiology in children

Aim. To conduct the marketing research of medicines for the treatment of viral acute intestinal infections (AII) in children for the scientific substantiation of the trends of changes in physical, social and economic availability of medicines.
Materials and methods. The basic methods were statistical, graphical, and comparative.
Results. According to the State Register of Drugs of Ukraine in order to carry out the rehydration therapy for a viral AII in children the domestically produced drugs dominate (87.20 % of the total amount of drugs). Among medicines of antibacterial therapy the drugs of the foreign production prevail (66.19 %). The chain index (Ig) of average purchase prices calculated showed that the average value was 1.28 within 2012-2016. The analysis of the coefficient of solvency adequacy (Ca.s.) showed the general trend towards increase of Ca.s. in 2012-2016. It indicates a decrease in availability of drugs. However, it is fair to note that by totality the Ca.s. value is insignificant, it is provided by relatively low prices of the drugs studied. It was found that there was the trend of decreasing the indicator of social and economic availability of drugs (less than 1) in 2014-2016. At the same time the growth trend of the affordability index of drugs was observed within 2015-2016 compared to the crisis of 2014.
Conclusions. It has been proven that there was the increase in average purchase prices for the drugs analyzed within 2012-2016. In the conditions of the unstable financial situation in the country this trend has negative consequences for the society. The general growth trend of the coefficient of solvency adequacy in 2012-2016 was observed. It indicates a decrease in availability of drugs used in the treatment of viral AII in children. It has been proven that the mean value of the affordability index of drugs is below 1 within 2014-2016. It also indicates its low level.References
