Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Це подання раніше не було опубліковане і не надсилалося до розгляду редакціям інших журналів (або у коментарях для редактора нижче дані необхідні пояснення).
  • Файл подання є документом у форматі Microsoft Word, OpenOffice, RTF або WordPerfect.
  • Інтернет-посилання у тексті супроводжуються повними коректними адресами URL.
  • Текст набраний 14-м розміром кеглю з 1,5 міжрядковим інтервалом; авторські акценти виділені курсивом, а не підкресленням (всюди, крім адрес URL); всі ілюстрації, графіки та таблиці розміщені безпосередньо у тексті, там, де вони повинні бути за змістом (а не у кінці документу).
  • Текст відповідає вимогам до стилістики та бібліографії, викладеним у Керівництві для авторів розділу "Про журнал".

Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines for publications in “SOCIAL PHARMACY IN HEALTH CARE” journal

The journal “Social Pharmacy in Healthcare” publishes original and review articles on social, economic, organizational and legal areas of research, as well as issues of management, quality control, technology and biotechnology in global healthcare and pharmacy.

  • Original (fundamental) research should contain a detailed description of the results of a new, previously unpublished scientific study that provides data, new approaches or ways of solving problems that have not been previously considered; the study is carried out using modern methods and techniques and involves statistical processing of quantitative data.
  • A review (descriptive articles) on research topics reveals the essence of the problem, contains a systematization of existing knowledge, identifies unresolved aspects of the problem and reflects promising ways to solve a particular problem; the recommended number of literature sources is more than 30 (at least 60% for the past 5 years).

Articles that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication by other publishers will be accepted for consideration.

The languages of articles: Ukrainian, English (USA).

Authors are responsible for the accuracy and originality of the material. Editors reserve the right to make editorial corrections to the article.

REVIEWING

The procedure of blind reviewing articles is used, which involves experienced scientists, both members of the editorial board, and external specialists, including foreign ones. The review is carried out in compliance with the Declaration of Conflict of Interest in accordance with the “Regulations on the editorial policy of scientific periodicals of NUPh”.

The final decision on the publication of the article is made by the editorial board of the journal. In case of refusal to publish materials are not returned to the authors and are not considered again.

Original articles and reviews are kept in the editorial office for 3 years.

Articles sent to authors after peer review should be returned to the editors no later than 5 days after being received by the authors. If the deadline is exceeded, the manuscript will be re-registered as received again, with a corresponding change in the date of its publication.

REQUIREMENTS FOR MANUSCRIPTS

The text of the article should be printed in 14-point font with 1.5 spacing on A4 sheet (margins: 3 cm on the left, 1 cm on the right, 2 cm on the top and at the bottom).

Authors should follow the general outline of the article and highlight the mandatory structural elements:

  • UDC
  • Initials and surnames of the author(s)
  • Name of the institution where the work was performed, country (if the authors are from different institutions, number them using a superscript)
  • E-mail address for correspondence
  • TITLE OF THE ARTICLE
  • ABSTRACT (submitted in Ukrainian and English; no references to literature sources; no abbreviations; total length of the Abstract – 250-300 words):
    • Introduction (1-2 sentences on the relevance of the study)
    • Aim
    • Materials and methods
    • Results and discussion
    • Conclusions
  • Keywords (3-8 keywords specific to the article, but quite common in the discipline; no abbreviations, acronyms; in alphabetical order with ; ).
  • TEXT OF THE ARTICLE:
    • Introduction (up to 10% of the article). Statement of the problem, determination of the relevance of the study, previously studied and unsolved issues of the problem with reference to the works of researchers of this problem.
    • Aim. Determination of the aim of the study according to the title of the article, the results obtained and conclusions.
    • Materials and methods. Materials and methods should be described in sufficient detail to allow others to replicate and develop the published results. The study objects, experimental conditions, databases used, protocols, etc., related to the publication should be described. Standard methods and procedures should be cited with reference to the relevant sources. During statistical data processing, a link to the licensed software package used should be provided. 
    • Results and Discussion (up to 80% of the article). Disclosure of the issue under discussion. Description of the experimental results and their interpretation. Authors should discuss the results and how they can be interpreted in terms of the previous studies and working hypotheses. The results are illustrated with figures (graphs, diagrams, photographs) and tables described in the text. Direct duplication of information in figures and tables should be avoided. 
    • Conclusions and prospects for further research. Conclusions should be supported by the research findings and should be presented in a numbered format. It is recommended to highlight future areas of research or their practical application.
  • References. The list of references should include publications from the last 5 years. Earlier publications are allowed only in special cases. Citation of textbooks, reference books, popular science websites, etc., should be avoided.

           At least 60% of the literature used should be research by foreign authors. The percentage of self-citation should not exceed 20%.

           The sources used are listed in the same way as they are referred to in the text of the article. In the text of the article, references to literary sources are given in square brackets, e.g. [1], [2, 3].

           Information sources are indicated by the DOI index.

           All sources should be cited in the original language.

           The list of references should follow the international APA (American Psychological Association) style. To prepare a correct list of references in accordance with the APA requirements, please use the internet resource https://www.grafiati.com/uk.

  • Authors’ contribution. The contribution of each author is indicated. For example: research design; literature review; research methodology; data collection; data analysis and interpretation; statistical data processing; fundraising; writing the article – initial draft, revision and editing of the article. It is recommended to use the CrediT system (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) to determine the contribution of authors. Not all roles apply to every manuscript; authors may contribute to more than one role.
  • Funding (if available). Authors should disclose all sources of funding that provided financial support for the study and/or preparation of the article. The role of the sponsors should be stated in relation to the materials and methods used, the research design, the collection, analysis and interpretation of data, the writing of the report, and the decision to submit the article for publication.
  • Conflict of interests. Authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could influence the research and its results reported in the article.
  • Declaration of Generative AI in scientific writing (if available). Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools do not meet the criteria for authorship and therefore cannot be listed as authors or cited as authors in manuscripts. If AI tools were used in the preparation of the manuscript, this should be properly declared with sufficient details in the “Materials and Methods” section of the manuscript.
  • Acknowledgements (if necessary).
  • Information about authors (submitted in Ukrainian and English):  Initials and surnames of the author, academic degree, academic title, position, place of work (ORCID code). E-mail address.

DESIGN OF GRAPHIC MATERIAL

Graphic material is placed in the text strictly within the printed page margin. All text information in figures should be clear and legible and should not contain unnecessary detail.

All figures and tables should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals; each figure should be accompanied by a caption (not combined with the figure), and tables should be titled (centered).

It is advisable to submit color illustrative material in graphic format *.jpg, *.tiff, *.pcx, etc., as additional separate files named fig.1, fig.2.

All diagrams should also be submitted in *.xlsx format (MS Excel source file should be attached).

Tables should be typed in MS Word text editor in the text of the article and designed as follows:

Figures should be inserted in the text of the article (the source file must be attached) and formatted as follows:

Formulas (mathematical and chemical) should be presented in the text of the article and should be executed in programs built into MS Word or compatible editors.

 

SUBMISSION OF MANUSCRIPTS

Articles are submitted to the editor in two copies on paper, as well as in electronic form. The second copy of the article is signed by all authors. Thus, the authors testify the observance of the Declaration of Conflict of Interest in accordance with the “Regulations on the editorial policy of scientific periodicals of NUPh”.

Authors of articles submitted to the Editorial office for publication in the journal confirm with their personal signatures on the copies of their manuscripts:

  • their consent to record-keeping of the authors’ data required for the articles processing (full name, academic title, academic degree, position and place of work, address for correspondence, office telephone, E-mail) by the publisher with the purpose of providing relations in the field of intellectual property rights, including copyright;
  • the permission for publication of personal data of the authors (full name, academic title, academic degree, place of work, E-mail) in the journal together with the article;
  • their consent to making public the complete on-line version of the article (or abstracts) on the sites of the National University of Pharmacy, National library of Ukraine named after V. I. Vernadsky and other portals of academic periodical publications with the obligatory reference and maintenance of moral right.

With the manuscript the authors should provide a written consent (“The author’s contract” about the transfer of non-exclusive property rights for a scientific article) to make it available to be on open access of scientometric databases.

To the printed version of the article an electronic copy in the original language should be attached. In case of submission of the manuscript in English it is mandatory to present the Ukrainian version of the article.

Electronic versions of the article and the author’s data must be entered into Open Journal Systems through the link http://sphhcj.nuph.edu.ua/.

Manuscripts made without the given rules are not registered by the publisher and they are not returned to the authors.

After the final approval, the authors of the layout of the article are sent an Agreement on the provision of editorial services to the journal “Social Pharmacy in Healthcare”.
