The analysis of economic availability of veterinary preparations in the segment of anti-mastitis medicines

Aim. To analyze the availability indexes of the preparations used for the treatment of mastitis in cattle, as well as to calculate the predicted prime cost of new anti-mastitis products compared to the prices of the reference drugs in order to identify the economic feasibility of their introduction into production.
Materials and methods. The theoretical basis of the study was the regulatory framework, scientific works of domestic and foreign scientists. The empirical research base was the price lists, state statistics data for 2012-2016. The calculations of price indexes, indexes of price liquidity and adequacy of solvency, the analysis of the dynamics of indicators were conducted using statistical methods. The prime cost of products was calculated by the conventional method.
Results. The analysis of legislation that regulates circulation and the quality control of veterinary preparations inUkraine and the EU countries indicates significant inconsistencies. It makes topical the problems of improving the normative base taking into account the international standards. The study of the availability of veterinary anti-mastitis preparations in 2012-2016 was conducted. As a result of the analysis of price indexes, indexes of price liquidity and availability of prices the conclusion can be made about the proper economic availability of this group of preparations. The prime cost calculation of anti-mastitis products proposed to introduction into production was performed. According to the results of calculations the predicted wholesale prices for the cream “Argocid-C”,100.0 g, the solution for intracisternal introduction “Argocid”, 100 ml, and the spray “Argocide-copper” are significantly cheaper than the prices for the reference drugs.
Conclusions. The veterinary preparations with the anti-mastitis action are available for agricultural enterprises of different forms of ownership and management. The veterinary preparations proposed for the treatment of mastitis in cows is economically feasible to produce.References
